چکیده

Chromatin structure The repeating unit of chromatin, the nucleosome, contains typically about 200 bp of DNA of which 146bp are externally wound in I .75 superhelical left-handed superturns around an octamer of the core histones. This octamer consists of two copies each of H2A, H2B, H3 and H4 histones and together with its DNA is termed the core particle. It has a diameter of 1l.Onm and a thickness of 5.7nm. An additional 2 x lObp of DNA are associated with a single copy of the fifth histone, HI , and the complex of 166bp DNA with all the histones is termed the chromatosome. One hundred and sixty-six base pairs of DNA represents about two superhelical turns. The remaining DNA is termed ‘linker DNA’. When extended at low ionic strength, this ‘beads-on-a-string’ structure can be re-folded to a higher order structure by salt addition, provided H 1 is

I-40: Male Genome Programming, Infertility and Cancer

Background: During male germ cells differentiation, genomewide re-organizations and highly specific programming of the male genome occur. These changes not only include the large-scale meiotic shuffling of genes, taking place in spermatocytes, but also a complete “re-packaging” of the male genome in post meiotic cells, leading to a highly compacted nucleo-protamine structure in the mature sperm...

Impact of Duration and Severity of Persistent Pain on Programmed Cell Death

Programmed cell death is a highly regulated form of cell death, mostly distinguished by the activation of a family of cystein-aspartate proteases (caspases) that cleave various proteins resulting in morphological and biochemical changes characteristic of this form of cell death. Several recent studies have addressed the role of programmed cell death in inflammatory and chronic pain states. Casp...

Study on Activity and Stability of Proteases from Bacillus Sp. Produced by Submerged Fermentation

Objective: Investigations were carried out to isolate bacteria from saline-alkali soils and determined optimized alkaline protease activity and stability produced by a wild strain of bacillus sp. in submerged fermentation (SMF). Methods: Optimum temperature for enzyme activity in the crude extract was 40 ◦C at a pH between 8.0 and 9.0. The studies on pH stability showed that the enzyme...
